| | Travel to UK for 3 days: need Day 2 test?
Hello all,
I'm travelling to the UK from 16th-19th September with my partner: we're both fully vaccinated.
From what I understand, we have to pre-book a coronavirus test on/before Day 2 after our arrival.
Day 2 would be the 18th, therefore we wouldn't even get the test results back before we were on our way back to Switzerland again...
Does anybody know if we still have to book/get the test?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best wishes,
Alexandra

Answer depends on test, and test company. Antigen normally about 15 minutes, PCR 1-48 hours depending on company and service offered.

I did the 123tests and they were very fast in replying. Don‘t forget you also need a locator and a flight anti gen test

So a total scam

Did a very similar trip 2 weeks ago. You need to book the Day 2 test and get a confirmation code from the test provider which has to be put on the locator form to present at UK immigration.
I posted my day 2 test and also got the results back 5 days later so not terribly useful, went for one of the cheapest providers.....

Don't book anything today, the UK gov website is being updated with the current list of test providers.

Gov.uk site had many providers quoting " from £20" but when I followed the link (for the first 5 providers until I got fed up) the cheapest at checkout was £89.

I booked my day 2 test directly on arrival at heathrow... because its "up to day 2"... so you can be done with it half an hour after arrival.

Did the airline need to see anything at check in?
Thx (heading to Heathrow next week hence asking)

Total scam by Boris and his buddies ... | | | | | You can book with Expert-Medicals for £28 plus postage for a home kit £35.99 or Eurofins a drive through in the Midlands for £20. Of course if you are leaving the UK before the end of the second day then not turning up at Eurofins is the way to go.

Switzerland is now on the Green List as of today
Switzerland Moved to the green list 4am, Monday 30 August. If you arrived in England before then you must follow the amber list rules.

I've just got back from the UK and they definitely checked I had it booked. I booked with Randox and went directly there after landing. I had the result by SMS at 11pm same evening. It has to be a PCR, but the day 2 test can be taken anytime upto day 2. Randox charged £60.

It doesn't seem to make any big difference if the country is in either the green or the amber list if you're fully vaccinated, does it?
