Re: buying fireworks

Not to my knowledge. If you do find a source, remember that they are
illegal to demonstrate your fireworks (shoot them off) outside of the
allowed holidays.

If you are near Liechtenstein, they sold them up through today... Today is
the Liechtenstein National Holiday, tonight there "should be" some
fireworks sponsored by the price himself. But, with the clouds and (still)
rain, I don't think there will be too much to see!

BTW, the fireworks from the Price of Liechtenstein take a close second
place to Disney's Magic Kindom daily fireworks show.

Of course, there's a shop at Birmensdorferstrasse 257, just uphill from Goldbrunnenplatz, that has fireworks yearround. Trams 9/14 direction Heuried/Triemli.

It's called Atelier Bucher.

Setting it off is another thing, but I know quite a few people who set off fireworks in their garden for birthday parties. Maybe verboten inside the city, but some do it on the outlying BBQ spots (big family cook-out with a firework to end it up).

From the City of Zurich website's FAQ:
Quote:
"Der Stadtrat hat deshalb das Abbrennen von Feuerwerk auf dem ganzen Stadtgebiet auf die genannten Anlässe beschränkt und zu den übrigen Zeiten untersagt."
"The City Council has therefore restricted the burning of fireworks on the complete city area to aforementioned events and forbidden it at any other time."

Tip: hit Üetliberg, it's on the territory of Bonstetten-Wettswil

Yes

By giving the man in the shop those bits of paper with funny faces and drawings on them. In exchange he will give you fireworks.

From a shop. Or the back of a truck.

This shop is a pyromaniac's paradise

Get the big firework (especially these batteries/boxes) while you still can without license. Stew-pid EU-imported rules caused by Darwin Award winners... :X

Buying Fireworks across border

It's that time of year again... Happy New Years everyone!
Just wondering the rules/laws for purchasing fireworks outside of Switzerland.
Is it even legal to buy fireworks and bring them into Switzerland?
I know a few years ago they only sold fireworks in Switzerland for 1.Aug. but I've noticed they are now selling them for New Years.
So any idea? Thanks!
LG Jennifer

Re: buying fireworks

AFAIK it is illegal to import them. I don't have a source for this it is what I have been told.
