Post Holding Packages

Hi All,

Does anyone know how long the post office will hold packages?

I want to order something online, but am on vacation for 3 weeks as of saturday (Hola Cuba!) and don't know if after they have it for 10 days or something they will just send it back??

Any experience?

Andrew

Re: Post Holding Packages

They usually hold it for a week.

But if you're going to be away, you'll probably get the post to hold all of your mail, which would include this package. Unless they need your signature in which case it's something you have to explain to your local post-office.

Re: Post Holding Packages

no problem go to your LOCAL post office in your town, then tell the clerk you want to place an order to 'post zurückbehalten' --> retain the post whilst you are away, you can do that for all post or for parcels only, they will then hold back parcels or anything else for a small fee of 10 francs for up to two months.

this is the link to it sadly not available in english.

Great shots! I love that Epson camera, mostly because of the discreteness that it looks like a *beautiful* junky old Leica! I guess you could shoot away without much attention in Cuba - I'm hesitant to take my canon 300D and associated lenses...big and not discrete at all.

The locals will notice you even with a small point and shoot. Many people will ask for a gift or coins if you ask to take their picture. Some people are "professional" and dress up in costume specifically for tourist photographers, eg various old ladies with large cigars in Havana.
