| | Hairdresser Cost Estimate
Hi there,
I have never been to a hairdresser here in Switzerland, but I was wondering how much they would charge (Im looking for a pretty decent place). Maybe some of the other girls on this forum can help me out.
I have layered hair (a little past my shoulders) with a full head of highlights, 2 colours. They are fine highlights, as in not those horrible chunky ones, as to look quite natural.
But anyways, my roots are starting to show now and I was looking for a touch-up, additional colour and cut.
How much would you estimate that this is going to cost me?
(I can tell you how much this costs me in Canada, but first it would be interesting to know how much this will cost me here.)

Average price for colouring, washing, cutting (good stylish cut) is around CHF 150.00 - 180.00.

95-120 haircut & 120 + highlights. This is what I charge and I am in a middle range.

Anyone else have any other cost estimates?
I can tell you, that this costs me about $260 - $280 back home, but then again, the stylist that I go to also styles hair for several of our local TV personalities too (as in she's quite good).
Is that range that you gave a low average range?

I pay Chf 155-170 just outside Zürich. I'm very satisfied with my hairdresser.

Really depends on how much needs doing - both colouring and cutting. I go every 4 - 5 weeks, so it's really just a question of trimming and touching up (hair that is). I pay just under 180.00 for that.

Highlighting with foil raises the price about 70 francs plus uses 2 colors and the time involved.

Hey Barryinc,
Thanks a lot for your estimates and such. Are you a hairdresser yourself (as in do you have a salon or something)?

I've had highlights, full color and cut in Zurich for 260 - 300 CHF and in the outskirts for 160 CHF. If you go to a trendy place you're going to pay trendy prices, so be prepared.
I can recommend someone in Seefeld (Zurich), if you're interested send me a PM.

Barry for my cut, color and foil highlights (not two colors) I paid 155 chf on the 16th of Jan. My hairdresser has an excellent reputation and is constantly on courses. There are plenty of much more expensive hairdressers in Zürich and the surrounding areas and it's been my experience that a higher price doesn't always reflect the quality of the cut or color.
Happy with her hairdo Dübendorf.

If possible, try going out of town - I get mine cut by the little local one in my village, and she does a fantastic cut (I have my hair in quite a geometric shortish bob, which is an unforgiving style if the hairdresser can't cut cleanly). It costs around 40-50 CHFs; not sure exactly as I always go with my little girl (and get hers cut in a cute MiniMe way, as she has the same type of hair as me).
A friend from the US living here in the village tried her for a cut and highlights, and said it was perhaps the best she'd had in 20 years of having her hair coloured - it did look very natural, even to my untrained eye. That was about 100 CHFs, I think.
