Japanese hair straightening AKA Ionic straightening

Hi all,

I've been looking and asking around in almost every hairdresser that I see but no luck so far. Does anyone know of a hairdresser that does Japanese hair straightening or AKA Ionic hair straightening? This is extremelly popular in Australia (home) and the result is fabulous but I've not had any luck here yet I'm even willing to travel to France, UK, Italy where ever... anyone know where I can get it done here in Europe please?

Is this what you're looking for? http://www.roots-hairstyles.ch/team.php
Recommend you ask for prices first.

Hi Anacris,
My suggestion is HIRANO. He uses Japanese materials which make my hair long lastingly (approximately 6 months) straight even if its natural texture is frizzy.
Here is the details:
HIRANO
Schaffhauserstrasse 122
8057 Zürich
Tel 044 362 20 44
Fax 044 362 20 52
öffnungszeiten:
Di+Mi 9.00-18.30
Do 11.00-20.00
Fr 9.00-18.30
Sa 9.00-16.00
Best if you call him up to make an appointment and explain to him your hair length etc to ask him about the price for the hair straightening. He speaks very fluent English.
Good luck!

Re: Japanese hair straightening AKA Ionic straightening

I got my hair straigtened at Guildford College for Higher Education in the UK in the student bit where they practice on you for £5 with excellent results. I don't know if this is the same thing as you are after - the treatment grows out eventually and competely removes the curl from your hair. Very liberating - it has saved me hours with the straigteners. I didn't get them to do the top t-section because I was concerned that my hair might be too flat after a bad experience having paid £100 at a 'proper' salon in Guildford and was very unhappy with the result. However, I nedednt have worried because the result was fab. It can't however be done on bleached hair though.

Hi if it's the Yukon japenese straightener, Toni and guy do it but it will be a lot more expensive than Australia I'm afraid.

I suspect that Anacris has probably got something worked out in the intervening four and a half years since she was last on the forum
