| | What do non-religious people do on religious holidays?
Well, the title basically sums up my question... On days like Good Friday or Easter Monday, what is one to do when everything everywhere is closed? |

Spend the day in the garden, planting this years crop. Or get in the car or on a train / bike and explore. Visit friends and family or invite them over for a meal etc - These days, as other have said, are just other "Sundays" - make the most of the long weekends :-)

Three Sundays in four days...
As the wife and kids are back in Blighty, everyone I know is at their family's places and I'm short of the pretty coloured bits of paper that thing outside the bank gives you, I'm reduced to birdwatching on foot and writing chemistry papers.
Woo.

Are you telling me that nothing is going to be open until next Tuesday? OMG, I was planning on being quite productive on this long weekend and get the husband motivated on the "Honey Dew" list.
Seriously, what will be open do you think?

Probably what most religious people do, without the going to church bit.

I'll be enjoying my extended weekend without the unnecessary interruptions the religious have to suffer such as mumbling in cold buildings for a few hours.
I think that the shops will be open tomorrow though won't they? Saturday is a normal day I thought.

I'm off to cycle around Lake Neuchatel soon, stopping for lunch and ice cream along the way somewhere
I hope that everyone else is able to get outside today and enjoy this beautiful weather.

Pat | | | | | Last year on Good Friday I was working in my garden. An old guy reported me to the Gemeinde and I got a polite letter reminding me that it forbidden to do any work on this day (in this Gemeinde). What a waste of a day! I wasn't even using any machines - just a spot of painting and weeding.
