Just an update on this thread.
So I left Switzerland to US about a year ago. and itís been just great. I literally love US of A.. everything is so nice here.. university, work, people, shopping..
There is just so many things to do here for me.. I have no idea how I survived there in the boring Switzerland. I guess for a guy in his early 20s, Switzerland is not really a good option.
And no I donít miss the freaking Zermatt.. I rather be with my girl driving in desert with my f150 and do crazy stuff..
Are you sure that what she wants too?

in comparison with Switzerland. Can someone list?
(Iím more interested to know about life of academic people in USA vs Switzerland)
And is it worth to move from Switzerland to USA for someone who has opportunity to live in one of these countries?
USA is big. Not like one country. Every locale is different. for academics, you will be happy around SFO and the bay area. quality of life is good. and you have to get used to almost nil public transport outside of the main city center
If your university takes care of your housing, you will be able to save most of your earnings as food and fuel is relatively quite cheap there.
