In that case, I would check with BACOM. Can't imagine it would be a problem though... you passed the code and written exams. I remember reading something about General recip to Extra privileges like stephanienie mentioned.

You could exchange your license right away to HB9 with extra class priviledges w/o any additional tests. 120chf/year.
Yes, just got my annual bill for 120 CHF.

If there is interest, I'll organize a trip to the HamFest in Germany this coming June 28th to 30th

.... ..

Have not been to a Hamfest in ages. Due to inactivity and budget, it is better not to go

Have been on a couple DX-peditions in my active days. Liechtenstein (when a QSO-card was sought after), some rare coordinates on Cyprus and helped out with some soldier to family HF-LL patch calls during not-so-recent military actions.

Hi hi OM well, I'm looking to start up my station as I am not active at the moment, but looking to go QRV from CH at some point. I was a DXer (CW, RTTY, SSB) and lookng to get active in those modes again.

Closest I came to being DX was signing IOTA NA-26 (which is Long Island, NYC area) during Islands On The Air contest. Served as a multipiler since few of the area hams knew LI/NYC had IOTA designation.

Re: Ham radio

What kind of antenna setups do you use? Any problems getting a proper location (and authorization) for them? It seems getting a reasonable antenna outdoors on a roof of a rented place is kind of tricky...

Re: Ham radio

HB9ERJ / M0GPA here, not that I've ever aired the Swiss call due to a combination of lack of time (toddlers..) and living in a ground floor apartment that's something of a Faraday cage. Keep having vague intentions to take a laptop and an HF portable up a mountain somewhere and work digital modes /P...

Re: Ham radio

HB9ERJ, HB9ELH,

Nice to meet you guy's! Would be great to meet up anytime when your free, maybe we can see if any other members leave a message here and arrange a meeting with everyone for a tea/beer some time soon.

Always feel free to give me a call if you hear me on any of the bands. Or via Echolink HB9FIY-L RF: 145.3625 CT 229.1 anytime

We usually connect up to SM0KJD-R or via Allstar for daily chats between expats in Sweden, US, CH and friends back in the UK.

Re: Ham radio

I will be happy to join the AFR (away from radio) meet-up. I'm not active at all, been mostly on the SWL side (VLF and UHF satcom) of the wave but got a license a couple of years ago that I doubt is valid here. I'm in canton (AG) let's find the common place for everyone interested. September is ok for me any date but the last week of the month. Will try to join the echolink in the coming days!

Will be interested. Moving to Kanton Aargau (near Dietikon) in Jan 2014.

Will use the Spring to put up some antennas once I get permission.
