vwild1's "meeting tip of the day"

Today's tip:

"Check calendar before attending meetings"

My work place is/was having a big bash today, 2 bands and tons of food. I was soooo looking forward to going to it until I found out I had an important meeting to attend at 7pm Last week I informed the organizer of the party that unfortunately I wouldn't be able to attend because of this meeting.

So here I am today, busy out in the garden when I noticed the clock and thought I'd better get my butt in gear if I want to get to that meeting in time! I then took 1 very fast shower, dressed and ran out the door in less than 15 minutes which would still make me a few minutes late for the meeting. I parked my car and leaped out racing towards the meeting room. When I got there I saw the door closed and knew the second I opened that door there would be about 2 dozen faces giving me that long, cold and quiet stare of displeasure..

I threw the doors open and..... empty.. huh..?!?! Did they move the meeting, is it being held later, what's going on, am I going crazy...?!

I asked a kind woman I saw downstairs where's the meeting at.. She slowly got a big grin on her face, leaned towards me and in a soft gentle voice said..

Today's the 20th of May.. your meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday the 27th...!!

Your post reminds me of when my old neighbours asked me to looks after 3 of their show dogs & new litter of puppies as they were going to a big dog show hundreds of miles away. They had got the dates wrong and driven for hours to get to this show leaving at 4 in the morning only to get there and find out they were a week early!!!
