They are staring at you in pity, thinking "what a cliché!"

Re: The sport of staring.....

I just saw this thread. Well, I thought something is wrong with me/the way I dress but there are plenty of people who feel this way. Now, I am relaxed to know that it is their habit to stare and nothing is wrong with me . When I travel to any other European country even in the neighboring France I never see somebody staring at me.

Custom for Swiss girls to stare at you?

I live in the US, and there's about 3 Swiss exchange students (lol?) and two of them seem to stare/look at me. Is there something Swiss girls like or is it just custom? Hehe.. lol

Or is there just something terribly, terribly wrong with me. XD

Nope, not custom. You're just that dead sexy they can't help themselves. Here's another useful tip: they're all farm girls at heart, so the traditional "interest gift" (to show your interest in them) of an oaken milking bucket will do wonders for your game.

Good luck! Hehe... lol XD

Re: The sport of staring.....

Thread merged, I think only brown sugar, dishwashing tablets and 120 k salary threads beat the Swiss staring threads..

OP, may I suggest a practical (and yank) tshirt?

Anyways, exhange students are fun. Enjoy them while they last.

I always liked the one that said, "My eyes are up here!" with arrows pointing in the appropriate direction...

Re: The sport of staring.....

Another discipline which I didn't see mentioned on this thread - staring at junctions.

Invariably when someone is turning from my right onto the road I'm emerging from, the driver and sometimes their passenger too will blankly stare at me and hold the stare as they turn rather than look at the blinking road.

At first I always thought it was because we had a RHD car, but it happens the same with LHD. And over the years, I noticed it tends to be older folk (50+).

Even blowing a kiss or waving manically at them like a long lost friend rarely changes their expression...odd!

Re: The sport of staring.....

I also noticed this staring during summer; people hiding behind sunglasses and staring at me in train and bus, perhaps they thought I wouldn't notice it. Really annoying, they were not trying to hide it, just kept on staring with their big sunglasses on their nose...
