Where to buy an electric motor for kitchen appliance

Hi all. I wasn't sure which section to put this in.

I have a kitchen appliance whose motor is close to death. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement 150W electric motor?

Thanks.

More often than not it's more expensive to fix an appliance than it is to just buy a new one. That said have you tried contacting the manufacturer..?

What appliance is it?

What kind of AC 150W motor is it and what manufacturer?

Check the name plate!

Re: Where to buy an electric motor for kitchen appliance

It's a peanut butter grinder I got from the States.

I'm going to contact the vendor, but I don't know what it would help. I think the motors they just put in these things are crap. Even if I get a replacement from them, it will be another crap motor. That's why I was hoping to get a replacement around here. 150W is pretty small, so I didn't think it would be terribly hard to find.

These motors operate with 110V/60Hz in the US. I am not sure if it is dual voltage motor for 220V/50Hz in EU. It is usually manufacturer's item hard to come by and perhaps it will be cheaper to buy entire new grinder here in CH specifically dedicated to 220V operation.

I have never seen such a machine sold here but I can't say I have ever looked for one. Once upon a time it was really difficult to find peanut butter here but now it is sold in most groceries stores and even a more natural version.
