Compulsory Military Service in Switzerland

Hello everyone!

I would like to know if there are cases in which foreigners, who keep their foreign citizenship only, and live in Switzerland, can be forced to serve in the Swiss Military. Thanks for your attention and Happy Easter holidays.

Ok, Lactic, but how about my son, he has a C permit (from mother) & will be qualified for a Swiss Pass (again via mother next month) .... & was also born here ..

If your son is Swiss he will be liable. If he is a foreigner, he won't. Age of course make a big difference too - the over 40s can rest (fairly) easy...
