I know that I can/should buy pregnancy tests in the apotheke, but it seems to be that it is just VERY expensive, the cheapest one is 19chf. If we will compare US, in US i was buying for $1 or so, and if you wish you can take the for free in churches, what about here? Maybe some churches or communities, or apotheke where I can buy/ afford to buy the pregnancy test.

They sell a cheap one in Migros, but you'll not find anything as cheap as what you cite from the States.

coop and migros sell cheap tests, and they are just as accurate as the expensive ones. they are usually on the shelves where the condoms are. (don't know if it's supposed to be a warning???)

As a warning, I think they should have a picture of Amy Winehouse with caption saying... "Please use condoms"

The most expensive test available here I found to be least accurate. Clearblue gave me 2 false negatives when I was pregnant Migros has the most accurate ones - Safe & Easy - 2 for CHF 19 I think. I'm sure someone on the forum has an unopened one sitting around that hasn't expired that they won't use.

Seems like expensive ones come with a bit of sense of humour

Do you have to take them in the churches or can you take them home? I can't imagine a Confessional booth is a very comfortable place for a lady to use one...

same problem here. i come from the philippines and tests there cost less than 1franc and thats already the middle price. i sometimes dont believe it here but ive no choice. Is 19f for 2 sticks really the cheapest? gosh i think i need a dozen tests..

They have early ones too which are more senstive than anything you'll get in Migros or a chemist. If you buy the 5-pack, 10-pack etc, don't be put off with how they look, it's just the basic dipping paper minus all the rest of the useless plastic they put on the 25chf tests. Ovulation tests also available there. Delivery is quick (for the impatient ).

Don't take the tests. Keep up with the folic acid consumption, don't drink too much and wait a couple of months or so.

And don't forget, if you're desperate to find out if you're pregnant and just can't wait for the shops to open, testing kits are available in pretty much all the vending machines around town.

Saw a bloke feeding 15 francs worth of small change into a Selecta at the train station at 4am . He wasn't buying candy!

Search for "Schwangerschaftstest" on Ricardo. Plenty available from reliable vendors, and regardlsess of packaging, the test itself is usually the same as these expensive ones.
An "Ovulationstest" might be a good companion.
