Anyway, I have always ordered books from Amazon and I even got them cheaper (without VAT).
Last time I bought some games for my partner too and got to pay the postman around 25 francs (which was absolutely fine as it still worked out cheaper than buying them here!). But I did not understood if the fee was for the games or for the total amount?

I am now thinking to order some stuff for my cat from zooplus (the german site).. will I have to pay a surcharge once the parcel gets delivered (and how can i calculate how much will be)?

Basically, customs duties and value added tax are not levied if they total no more than CHF 5.00 per customs declaration and as books have VAT rate of 2%, the parcels with value less than 209 fr will be tax free.

Most other things have vat of 7,6% and therefore only parcels with value under 66fr (including postage) will not be taxed.

Also prices on Amazon.de will have German VAT which will be removed from the price you pay in Switzerland.
