where to throw plastic toys?

I have to throw a broken toy, a "magic drawing board" (this)
It's a quite big piece of plastic, should I just put it into a black trash bag? (I feel bad).
Thanks

You say "magic", does it have some sort of internal electronics..? If yes then just take it to anyone who sells electronics of any kind to have it recycled.

If it can't be repaired and it doesn't have any parts that can be recycled, then yes, I suppose it must go into an ordinary rubbish bag.

I took a big plastic dolls house up to our recycling centre, and it was taken away free of charge by the very nice man

No, it's not electronic, but there should be some kind of metal dust inside: you can in fact draw with a magnetic pencil.
And it's really broken and can't be repaired.
