| | Hairdresser for non-Caucasian hair?
Hi
just wondered if anyone knows of a good hairdresser for Asian hair - someone who can cope with thick hair, and lots of it. I've been to a number here, but tend to leave with a poorly cut head of hair that looks like Ive dragged through a bush backwards.
My current solution is to wait till i travel to a country which has decent places, but since I havent travelled for a while, I need to seek out somewhere in Zurich. . .

Thea also walks on water and I could walk again after visiting her salon...

I've tried a couple at Grob in Shopville Zurich HB and haven't had any disasters. But these days I go to an old school barber in Seefeld, next to the Fröhlichstrasse tramstop.

I think I've seen some places in the Langstrasse area in Zurich, but you might want to double check that first.

Thanks | | | | | Hello Catina
In the Gundeldingen area of Basel about 100 metres from the main trainstation I saw a hairdressing salon which seems only to serve or specialise in "African type" hair.
If I go there on Tuesday (to the station not the salon ) I'll see if I can get the contact details for you.

There's one in Winterthur as well, if none of the others work out, let me know and I'll get the contact info if you like.

| | Japanese hairdresser in Zurich
Hi
This is my first posting :-)
I've been reading & getting lots of useful tips from this forum. It's great!
I'm in search for a hairdresser here in Zurich who can handle asian hair. I tried once going to a swiss hairdresser & was obviously not happy with the outcome
My hair is pretty thin, just like me & i'm just used to having layered cut in Kuala Lumpur
There's a japanese woman whom i've been visiting for a haircut & she does it very nicely but she's in Uster. Would prefer if there's one in Zurich
Looking forward to hear from you guys
Cheers

Hiya
Ive been to a Japanese hairdresser in Zurich - but he's quite expensive - think it was 120 Fr... and he's pretty good with layers and thinning...I was just wondering if there was anyone cheaper!

Dear Catina,
There are a few African operated places in the Langstrasse area, and Brazilian and Cuban operated ones in the Oerlikon area. However, depending on your hair texture and what you want done with it, you may wish to venture to Geneva - which is a bit more diverse - or even to London (two hour flight and you can spend the weekend), where the possibilities are endless...and you may even find an affordable one. Good luck.
