I disagree

True but you get what you pay for.

I agree with the obsession bit about Bugaboos but as I said above the Bugaboo is bombproof, the Quinny is ok but frame breakage is a problem on some models. You also need to look at the weight and collapsed size of a stroller (8 vs 15kg), the flexability of use (one unit from birth to finish), manoverability (easy for shopping but lock the wheels and you can jog with it) for the above points nothing comes close. It is a bit like an Iphone, it would be a very good thing to have if everyone else didn't have one and they were not a status symbol!!
I strongly disagree!

First child= 3 differents strollers. Our best stroller was a german brand that last in term of quality, durability and strengh. What the Bugaboo felt to do to all my friends who had a bugaboo. They ALL had a problem with it at some point. Breaks broke, wheels, etc.

Bugaboo is not what is was anymore for the simple reason that other company came out and could do the same product or similar for much cheaper but as good and strong (if not more). It is like medication, you can have one brand for years on the market and when the generics can finally come out, they are as good and do the exact same job at a small % of costs.

Bugaboo, you pay for the Brand! A Brand who came first with the idea and design.

They did a good job to make people believe they are the best and only one.

Re: Best place in CH / Elsewhere to buy a Bugaboo Cameleon?

We paid around 1000CHF for our buggy, I would hardly call it cheap! it's just not an over inflated price like the bugaboo which would have cost us 1500/1600CHF

When testing the buggies in the shop I was all set for a bugaboo until I had an issue wheeling the thing back up onto the 2inch high wooden plinth it was displayed on! didn't bode well for general usage, those 2 little front wheels are pretty rubbish really.

I think the bugaboo as a buggy looks great but as a pram with the bassinet it's awful

If these things are important to your choice of stroller you cannot beat a Chariot. They look more sporty than the fashionable bugaboos but they are incredible pieces of equipment and very difficult to find second hand as they are snapped up immediately and everyone keeps them for years anyway.
This is what my husband has been talking about and showing me online since we found out I'm pregnant! The Chariot is amazing!!! It can be pulled behind a bike, used as a running stroller, you can even attach skis to the bottom of the practically indestructible frame! I'm not sure how functional they are for a newborn, do you know, rachelw?

Re: Best place in CH / Elsewhere to buy a Bugaboo Cameleon?

Since bugaboo's are dutch I bought mine on www.geboortewinkel.nl and had it shipped, it was a lot less expensive than buying one here. We had it shipped to france however sine that was one third of the price of having it shipped to switzerland. Hope this helps!
