What is the best advice you have ever received?

Good afternoon all!

A rather random Thread, i know. However, recent events in my life (moving to a new country, a new employment search, the untimely death of my mother at christmas, amongst others) have forced me to think back to advice that i have been given, and which I find most helpful.

What is your best (or any) piece of advice given by a loved one, friend, family member or complete stranger? Or which have you heard through others that has stuck with you?

Thanks.. Just one to ponder. Have a great weekend!

The advice is good, in it own merit. If I follow good advices I would have been in a monastery by now

Another one:

"Not here, people are watching"

"Use your head, you idiot!"

Which one?

It's a toss up between the serious

"Treat others as you wish to be treated"

and the practical

"Remember to lock the door first"
