Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for a mother's day gift to send home? There must be some mothers out there!

Re: Mother's Day Gift Ideas

I know for some it may seem "tired" or overdone but my mother always loves flowers...

http://www.teleflora.com/

One objection that some have to flowers is that the flowers die though, there are plants available, either flowering plants or plants with a flower arrangement stuck in to make it a bit prettier.

Another thing my mom likes is photos... perhaps a personalized frame with a favorite photo of you and your siblings would be something your mom would enjoy?

Some more ideas here though: http://www.gifts.com/ideas/mothers-day

Best gifts are those you do yourself, with love

Or a chocolate box

Re: Mother's Day Gift Ideas

I tried something different this year:

To my mother I got her something she needed, a grill (my brother broke hers), and a gift certificate that she can spend in whatever she wants.

To my mother in law: a giftpackage for high tea for 2 in a very nice and chic restaurant near where she lives. We got it for 2 so that she can go with her sister and enjoy her time there, it came with champagne included .
I like giving surprising things as gifts when I have the time to do some research...otherwise I think a nice bouquet and chocolates are a great idea...but what about a day at a spa for instance??

Re: Mother's Day Gift Ideas

In case (like me) you had no idea when Mother(')s(') Day is this year, it's on 9 May for the following countries:
but if your mother is in the UK, you're in luck -- no need to send a card, you've missed it, Mother(')s(') Day was in March.

For those of you with mothers in the Netherlands, Taiwan, Hungary, Portugal or Spain, you may be able to claim that the card is in the mail and do something about it quick smart -- yesterday was The Day.

Swedish mums will be expecting flowers on 30 May.

EDIT: There seems to be some disagreement between websites on dates -- caveat filius/filia!

Do you guys take Mother's day more seriously than Father's day? Just curious?

Don't know what you have in mind but this is something I'd definately recommend!! I'd suggest the face or self titled book...we could all use a little guidance eh? And I've met Kim, she is wonderful and her skin insanely radiant.

Yes, I for one do. Except, of course, where my own child is concerned.

Obviously this is different for everyone but for me, yes... my father made sure it was that way.

Even now he sends her flowers and sends all of us "kids" an email reminding us of the date and to call / write / send flowers / whatever.

I got her a spa voucher for a foot massage and a pedicure - well, I erm, sent my sister to do it. Also just placed an order for some flowers to be delivered this Sunday. I heart the internet.

A family photo in a nice frame is also a good personal gift. Mothers can never have enough photos of their children and their family!

I'm a mom , but my husband never wished it... I only get something from my oldest daughter from school... to my mom, I have always sent flowers to her in France..

Does your mom like massages? a nice gift coupon in her nearest spa...

Re: Mother's Day Gift Ideas

I think I have the killer present! This is so good that i am going to do it myself when I get home this evening.

Mums love memories and Mum's love it when you dedicate time to them.

Write your mum a story of something that you remember from your childhood. it could be a funny story, or about when you were inconsiderate (If you ever were) and how you realise now. It could be how you viewed her and how you see things differently now

It's more effort than drawing the credit card and going to a website, but, as a dad, I know what I would prefer.

Either that or scented candles and scarf!!!! Does anybody in the whole world want those things?

What a big Jessie I have become!
