Passport Photos - Lausanne

Where is the cheapest place to get some passport photos in Lausanne? Preferably one where the people speak English or a self-serve kind of thing.

The station does them, there is a machine in the little walkway under St Francois, and the office des habitants are three that I know off, I can't remember the prices though I am afraid.

Re: Passport Photos - Lausanne

You'll generally pay about 8 CHF for the automated machines, and they are reasonable enough quality. You'll pay more in a proper photo studio and get better quality prints, but there is really no need. The ones that LoyalRoyal mentioned are probably the easiest ones to get to, but if you want to do it on the cheap then I know of one real budget place. It is between Bel-Air and Place Chauderon, on the south side of the street down a few steps. There's an automatic booth there that will do a set of black and white shots for, I think, 3 CHF. However, you only get what you pay for, and they are not very good quality and only black and white. It was certainly there 12 months ago, but it may have been taken away since (it looked quite old).

You'll find photo machines pretty much all over the country, in every major train station, shopping center, in other places too.

Have you never seen them?

However if you do require some of those biometric passport photos, I would recommend PHOTO TORNOW on Petit-Chne (Tl.: 021 323 57 81). He makes all biometric photos and then stores the photos digitally on his computer and gives you the reference number. If you need re-prints a few months later, give him a call and he will mail them to you with an invoice.

Re: Passport Photos - Lausanne

Passport photos for which country? Different countries have different requirements and some do not allow you to use machines (such as the US). You should be able to find a list of photographers in your area by checking your country's embassy website.
