A long warm bath, but might be good to have done some of the other activities first.

Re: Anger Management

* Shed a few tears (making sure the other half knows that they're "just tears", not "important tears" - otherwise he'll try to Find a Solution, which is even more vexing!)
* Wipe my eyes
* Go do something useful AND pleasant AND unplanned. Back home I'd go out and work in the garden. Here I usually cook something special.

I find that pampering myself just exacerbates the self-indulgent hormonalness of it all... but shouldering through my daily routine as if nothing at all were the matter doesn't work either. Useful pleasant work is the quickest way I've found to restore balance.

Re: Anger Management

Hope you're feeling better in the meantime, LJF.

...I find a cuddle and feeling tenderness really helps . That and someone to 'sound out' my thoughts with to get them in to perspective/stop them from taking over my brain. The latter works particularly well when done together with the first

Re: Anger Management

I can loan you a young teen. You can go off on her all you want and all you'll get back is a *shrug* "I'm going to go Facebook and Skype my friends" and then she walks away.

Leaving you to you realize what you are angry about just isn't that bad.

Re: Anger Management

My best way to vent out frustration/anger is to take it out
in a computer/ video game.

Sniping N00bs can be surprisingly soothing...

Re: Anger Management

I do what other people in Geneva and Lausanne seem to do: push and shove people on the buses and trains, ha ha ha. But seriously, I try to teach my cat tricks, watch Dexter, and clean like crazy, my form of meditation.

Put on your favourite CD and read your favourite girly magazine or book. I find that immersing myself in a good read takes my mind of all my worries. Best of luck!
