Re: Australian Shop

mate, if you buy a load of Aussie tat to hang up, you're girlfriend's place will look more like Outback than Australia. From what I hear Australians still favour the old sofa, curtains, dining table style of decoration.

Re: Australian Shop

You'd be amazed how much Aussie stuff you can find on Ebay (.co.uk) - cheap postage and probably much much cheaper than anything you can buy here.
Otherwise, I reckon the place in Rapperswil sounds like your best bet..

After reading this post I tried to put through an order with www.aussieshop.ch. I recieved the confirmation of reciept of order on the 4th of July but have not heard from them or received a thing since . I think they're out of business but a note on the website would have been nice. I did note that the last manual update on the site was late last year but thought it wouldn't hurt to try
I've sent an email telling them to cancel the order.
Overall I think it would be cheaper (and quicker) just to have my sister post me a care package containing husbands much missed pizza shapes!

Re: Australian Shop

The price of vegemite in this country is nothing short of scandalous... A lesson to all you aussies, dont ever start feeding the stuff to your partner, they will like it and those piddly 150 gram jars they sell here are gone quicker than you can say vegemite on toast . I am waiting for a shipment from Australia 1.5kg of the sticky black goodness coming by slow boat.......

.... That's only because we can't afford to buy meat in this country to have a proper BBQ.

I heard you can get Vegemite from the English Orell füselli shop in Bahnhoffstrasse, Zurich.... personally I think it's still cheaper to FLY home and buy it from your local Coles and Woollies.

Other than that, I have NFI where to get other Aussie things.... I'd suggest you pop into a pub in Neiderdorf called "Olivers Twist" the publican there is an Aussie called Brendan.

He always puts on a good show when there is an Aussie event (Australia Day went off). He had heaps of Aussie stuff hanging up, so I guess he'd know where to get it from.

Oliver's Twist is near the Starbucks in Neiderdorff, straight up the hill from the Rathaus tram stop (tram 4 and 15).

Don't go to the outback pub..... ever
