Coop @ Home

Anybody else use this and more to the point....does anybody know how it works?

In the UK, Tesco and Sainsbury employ people at the local store to "shop" your list and dispatch it. But here it seems different....the range of what I can buy is different to the local stores and the regionally marked items eg milk, come with a Zurich label (to the Bernese Oberland)

Do they have one central depot that they use to collate orders and then drive it down? If so, I may stop using it.....doesn't seem very green

The employ people to shop and dispatch it to the customer. The reason why you might have some items from Zurich is because they do routes and generally go about an efficient way to cover the most amount of customers with the least amount of travel.

But these are small vans, look like they only have stuff for 6 or 8 customers in them......still seems odd to me that they'd travel from Zurich....

Re: Coop @ Home

I think they do collect the items from a central depot. The reason I think they use for it being greener is due to the fact that instead of 6 or 8 customers each driving to the shop, only one van does all the driving. Although if the central depot is all the way in Zurich and the van has to travel quite far out to make deliveries, then it sounds like its really a much of a muchness.
