Harry Potter 7 in english

Hi there,

Are there any cinemas that show movies in english in the Luzern area? Or Zurich (might make a day out of it)?

I'd love to go see the new Harry Potter "The Deathly Hallows" movie at the cinema, but am kind of at a loss as to where it is shown in its original language, and ideally in all the Dolby Surround sound etc.

Appreciate your help.

Jim.

Mostly movies are shown in the original language with subtitles - just check the local cinema listings and you'll normally see something indicating language Edf would normally mean spoken English with German and French subtitles.)
[At least here in Basel, and I imagine Zurich too.... Luzern I don't know....]

Have you try to google first?

Check http://www.cineman.ch/en ; if the movie written with Edf means english movies..

Eg;In English
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1
14:00, 17:15, 20:30 Edf | 12J.

German ; D
Harry Potter und die Heiligtümer des Todes
14:00, 17:15, 20:30 D | 12J.

Re: Harry Potter 7 in english

Thanks for the fast replies.

Living in Germany for a few years gets you used to not being able to see movies in english unless you go to the one beat -up old cinema in town, while all the multi-plex cinemas were only in german, hence my post.

I did google it naturally and did find the cineman site earlier today, but unfortunately later in the day I couldn't find what i was looking for and seem to mess up the pages by clicking myself into a german showings only section. Tired. Hence my post. More awake brains than mine should know better was my assumption.
Appreciate the help and link.

Jim.

The Metropol cinema in Zurich shows films in English - the website says which languages each one is in: http://www.cineman.ch/kinoprogramm/t...theatre_id=341

This is another good site I found. It does say Zurich on the link but it does cover every area.

Hi I too am an expat and found it hard to find a decent place to get cinema listings and trailers in english. Try www.cinemazone.com they cover cinema listings in Switzerland, Germany, UK and Spain. At the moment they have 4 languages, English, German, Spanish and French.

Hope that helps
