Dependent visa for L card applicant/holder

Hello all ,

This is my first posting on the forum, based on the initial readings i feel this is a very good discussion platform for queries from different domains.

Here with my query, I have recently moved to Switzerland on 12 month work permit from India and have got myself registered and applied for the L card. As for the application of my spouse's visa ( wish to get dependent visa for my wife) my employer told me that once i get the L card in hand then it can be taken up with Swiss consulate in Mumbai not before.

Given my urgency on the issue, I enquired the process with the local Stadhouse where i got myself registered. They said that is not so i can apply for the same from Switzerland and for that they gave me a form titled - 'Gesuch um Einreisebewilligung' and though i may not get the L card in hand (that might take 6 weeks ) as of now but the application acceptance can be used as the L card for processing of my wife's visa.

Upon checking the same with my company's lawyer i learnt that it is not so the process is not this way, it is the way the company folks suggested. Firstly the documents are to be filed in India (with copy of my L card and other needed details) and then after a week of filing there i need to file an application in Switzerland with my rental agrement (that might be verified for residence feasability of 2 people) and L card copy.

Please suggest me which approach to take, independently proceeding for the dependent visa from Switzerland or as my employer is suggesting ??

Many thanks in advance.

PS- I have checked all the documents in the similar category but the query of similar nature was never posted.

Thanks
Kumar

Re: Dependent visa for L card applicant/holder

Well yeah there is some pattern but by chance i am still missing on the basic issue here - if i should apply in Switzerland (with L card application) or it is to be taken up in India after i get the L card and if i can apply at either place what is the suggestion of esteemed members which process shall take messer time as such..

Thanks for the patience.
