Re: Moving to Switzerland.

Your spouse will get the same permit as you would and will have work rights.

Re: Moving to Switzerland.

Thank you,

But I must point out that I have been working in Thailand for six years and we have been back to the U.K two times. We hope to come to Newcastle first then move to Switzerland, this is very new to me so any advise would be great.

Thanks Tom.

Thanks.

You will get your permit to work here, and she will get the same permit as you (if you get B, she will get B, if you get L, she will get L). As UK citizen you will most probably get B permit, and thus your wife will get B as well and will have the right to work here, if she finds the job of course.

if you had L, your wife would not be able to work here.

Re: Moving to Switzerland.

Don't worry. The Swiss authorities love married couples (maybe coz we are taxed higher )! As a UK citizen, you're most likely going to get a B, so she'll get one too. I've heard stories where they checked whether your marriage is real but if you guys haven't spent the last 10 years apart or have divorced twice you're good. (Anyway, I think all these stories are exceptions to the rule, those who have nice experience don't come back to report.)

My wifes permit.

Hi again I am still unsure if my wife who is Thai would have to go back to Thailand for her permit, I am from England and I hope to be starting a job in Sept, I have had two job offers but I would like to talk to them when we arrive, my question is when we come from Thailand she will have a tourist visa we would go to the uk first then Zurich if I take one of these jobs can we apply for her to stay or would she have to back to Thailand.

Thank you
