B (EU) Permit to a C (how to?)

My 5 Year B (EU) Permit will expire in June this year.

Before I start knocking on the wrong doors with my poor Italian (i live in TI), can anyone give me some advice on how to change my B permit to a C?

As an EU Citizen, your C Permit will come automatically. When I completed 5 years of residency in CH (I have US citizenship), the lady in the migration office asked me whether I wanted a C Permit or whether I wanted to continue on the B. My answer was quite obvious .

Re: B (EU) Permit to a C (how to?)

I just upgraded my B permit to C permit last month. I don't know how it works for EU, but for non-EU, I have been told that the Gemeinde (or immigration office or whatever you call in english) will not upgrade your permit automatically. So what do you need to do it: when you receive the form to renew your permit (you will receive a form to renew B permit since it doesn't exist a form for C-permit), there will be a 'Remark' at the back. So just write back you would like to upgrade to C-permit on this remark section. Also, when you hang back the form to the office, remember to tell them the same thing and the officer there will check if you're qualified or not.
