Work Permit Background Check [DUI offense in the US]

I currently live in the United States and my employer wants to sponsor me and move me to Switzerland later this summer. I know that the Swiss government will do a background check on me as part of the process to grant me a residency/work permit. I had been charged with a DUI driving offense last year and I am curious if the Swiss government will withhold approving me a residency/work permit because of this offense in the US.

Hi,
I am curious about your results. I am applying for a Swiss residency permit and I had a DUI 11 years ago. When I got the appropriate documents it appeared on my record as I expected. My question is whether or not it caused any problems when you got your residency permit?
Thanks,
Patricia

Depending where you apply in Switzerland, I'd say that in Canton Valais a DUI track is a good integration factor

I don't know the actual situation with Swiss law, but my experience is that most immigration authorities are primarily concerned with crimes of moral turptitude. A DUI would not fall into this category.

It did not cause an issue for me and since yours has been so long ago, I cannot see how this would be a problem for you.

In CH unless you get a fine of 5000 chf, it would not even be recorded.
