I have searched the forum so appologies if I missed the answer to this question.

I am due to apply for a work permit to work in Geneva for a job with my current employer.

We are unsure whether we will live in France or in Switzerland. Initially, I would hope to live in Swtizerland in temporary accomodation and within the next six months, decide on a location to rent / purchase somewhere that my family can live in. If we buy, it is likely to be in France, however, if we rent, it could equally be in Switzerland.

Is it possible to obtain a B permit and then within a few months, exchange this for a G permit or do you have to make the choice and hold to that choice for a year, as indicated by my company documentation.
