Hi all,

So i applied for my non-EU visa for a 3 month internship (NON UN), so its a full blown work visa I'm told. Two weeks ago, the canton asked for some more supporting documents for my case.

By this point it has been 6 and a half weeks since my visa has been in process. Does anyone know how much longer the process can take? Anybody care to share their experiences?

The people at the consulate said 6-8 weeks, some embassy papers and posters here say 8 - 12 weeks. Is there anyone that one can call (perhaps OCP?) and get a better timeline?

Also, what are the chances of a 3 month internship permit getting rejected? I am being too paranoid?

I think you are talking about permit not the visa, right?
The normal processing time of permit is 8-10 weeks and for visa is 7 working days.

It took a full four months for me to get my visa. The visa allowed me entry into the country and when I took that to immigration I got a paper permit, but it took another two months or so to get my residency permit card.

Unfortunately whenever I asked how I could streamline the process or for more specific time frames I was just told to wait and that it would basically get there when it got there. All the work before you get here is the hard part. Everything seemed to go quickly and smoothly for me once I got here though.
