Non EU with B permit wants to work for UK Company

Hello, I have read a few discussions around similar topics but nothing close to my situation. I am hoping that someone knows where to find more details or perhaps has lived the same situation and may be happy to share.

I am non EU Swiss B permit holder married to a British citizen living and working in Switzerland. I am looking into ‘home (Switzerland)-based’ jobs which may require visits to UK offices a few times a month.

Before coming to Switzerland, I worked in the UK for a few years (<4) on a work permit scheme.

My questions are more about visa requirements for UK jobs while settling in Switzerland and potential complications with current Swiss B permit.

  • Does anyone know whether my marriage status or Swiss B permit could give me an automatic pass to work in the UK or do I need to go through the whole process of applying for a work permit in the UK again?
  • As far as I understand a UK marriage visa is granted for those who intend to live and settle in the UK only.
  • At the moment I hold a visitor’s visa to gain entry to the UK.
  • Could Swiss authorities stop my B permit?
Any advice very much appreciated
Thanks

I would think if you're working for a Swiss based company and just being sent over to an office in the UK for a few days at a time there'd be no problem. It's not as if you're working in the UK permanently or for several months. You are resident and working in Switzerland and are simply on a business trip to the UK for your company.

I might be uninformed... but if you're married to a Brit, in Switzerland you should be treated as a Brit and have an EU-B permit, no?

Also if you're married to a Brit you have the right to live & work in the UK, no?

You'll be working for Swiss company, as far as I know you do not need a work permit for business trips. My dad gives presentations all over the world, but he never has more than a visitors visa.

I don't really see how there is a problem. Maybe for the UK part you could make things easier by having a UK address, maybe your wife's parents address?

As far as I know, being married to a Brit doesnt really offer any advantages except for a little bit less of an interrogation on arrival at immigration.

You only get the benefits of residency/work permits, if you are actually living in the UK with your partner. I'd ring the embassy and check, but I guess if you are resident/working in Switzerland, they arent going to be too fussed about you turning up every couple of months for business meetings.

As for the visitors visa. I think they stamp a 6 month entry visa each time, regardless of when you last visited. "Employment is prohibited" but going to meetings in the UK doesn't constitute employment does it, as you are paid in Switzerland.
