A marraige is registered in the country where it is obtained. It is up to the parties to that marraige (husban/wife/etc) to register that marraige anywhere else in the world. South Africa and Poland had no idea about the marraige that me and my wife had in the UK. Poland was only told by us registering it there when we transfered property and were only interested because it meant that there was no transfer tax to be paid.
As I understand not even the EU currently shares a common marraige register so I seriously doubt that South Africa would have one with Greece.
If you read the link that one of the pervious posters to this thread had posted you would see the implications of that.
