Wedding visa and travelling through europe - How it works ?

Hello all,

I will marry a Swiss man next month and Im moving to Zurich.

Im Brazilian with Brazilian passport.

Ill receive the normal visa for family repatriation to move to CH with my husband and I have a question...

After 5 years, I will become a Swiss citizen with Swiss ID and passport, until there I only have the permit and my brazilian passport.

Anyone knows how it works when travelling to another countries ? They will consider that I live in CH and theres no limit of time to stay as to Brazilian people ? (To us, we can travel for 3 months through europe without visa according Schengen deal, for more than 3 months we need the visa from each country).

Im planning to do a course in France and I will stay there longer than the 3 months...

Tks

I really dont know much about that, for switzerland is enough with the B permit you get, maybe you can ask for the course provider in france if they will give you a special student visa, that might do it.

Could you help me with something? My brazilian friend is here visiting her boyfriend and they have big plans but first would like to live together for sometime before deciding to marry. How it was the tramit for your wedding visa? could you tell me a little a bit about that?. They were here last night and he asked us, but first im from mexico and second, when we got married it was allowed to do it as a tourist, and third they want to live a time together before that step. does it still exist the partner visa?

Thanks in advance

You can start the accelerated process of obtaining Swiss nationality after 5 years, which can take upto 18 months and your application MAY be accepted allowing you to become a Swiss citizen.

It is not automatic after your application and you need to stay married, living together

I think her question was more about whether she can travel Europe on her Brazilian passport than exactly when she'll get her swiss passport...

...and I'm no expert but until you become a Swiss citizen you will still be Brazilian regardless of where you are living and therefore the same visa requirements will apply to you visiting other countries. There could also be issues with your Swiss permit if you leave the country for a significant length of time - you need to look into this. But presumably you are not planning to stay in France for the entire length of time of this months long course - otherwise you'll never see your swiss husband?! Should make it easier visa/permit wise if you are just commuting every week or something like that.
