Also why dont you ask your husband to do some research? He is Swiss so it should be easy for him

Like Gata says, your hubby to be is Swiss. Why do you think other non Swiss on this forum can help you better than him?

I think a priest or a civil servant will ask something about you and him taking each other as husband and wife, and you simply say "I do".

Oh dear...
It seems, there is no Swiss embassy there. http://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/de/home/...wi/afomal.html
Just a consulate.
Everything must go through Zimbabwe.

Is there anything that might make the authorities think your marriage is a marriage of convenience, ie short relationship, soon expiring visa???

It is going to be the usual drill.. assemble paperwork, deposit it, and then formally tie the knot. http://www.ch.ch/private/00029/00034...x.html?lang=en , and it is even in english...
Depending where your groom lives, you'll have to submit your paperwork to a different office. As a foreigner, you'll need to provide a birth certificate, a civil status certificate and if applicable divorce (or certificate of death) if you've been married before, and copy of passport and (if you have one) residency permit.
Your fiancé should take care of the paperwork; his part is a lot easier, he just have to ask his townhall.

Im American and married a Swiss. We went through the Germeinde and US Embassy. The Swiss Embassy in US was no help. Through them we had to do soooo much paperwork and wait 3 months blah blah blah. Instead I came here, went to US Embassy and germeinde and was married.

Thanks for posting this... It's a clear look at some of the things i was talking about instead of smart alec answers , assumption of what nationality i am, comments about convenience and generally experienced Forum people who are bored to tears and have fun poking at Newbies... Sounds almost like bullying to me... "Dont go there"... ha ha.. Honestly..
