Non-EU17 Member Swiss work permit seeker

Hi Everyone,

I have been searching for a job in Switzerland but several companies say Switzerland has a strict quota on people outside of Switzerland and EU-17....isn't there a way to get a work permit other than trying to get one from an employer? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Sunreisenden

Highly unlikely to work in practice and anyway the company would still need to sponsor the permit so doesn't even answer the question.

The answer is no, by the way.

Thank you Joeyying.....could it be any company? Is there a minimal financial requirement for setting up a company in Switzerland? Once I have a company registered there, would I be allowed to live there?

Ok, sounds like down to plan B, register a company and hire a Swiss...you are hired. Just kidding. I am impressed with your postings on this website. Do you know the requirements for registering a company other than hiring myself and a Swiss. Also, do you know what webpage address on Swiss' federal website that has details on requirements, etc. on registering a company.

Thank you

In fact I don't know much information about registering a company in order to get the residence permit here, but I am very convinced that you will need to hire (at least) a Swiss or co-operate with a Swiss, plus the minimal financial requirement and there is a requirement for the annual turnover too...

Won't work mate, forget it - these backdoor schemes never work and even if they seem to at first can you not see the dishonesty?

Plus even if you did manage to register a Swiss Company (lot of money ISTR) and thereby seek to employ yourself, you would still need to pass the Swiss First, EU second, rest of World next test to prove you are the only suitable person who can do this job that doesn't even exist yet.

Those are not requirements. You can find out more here.

Re: Non-EU17 Member Swiss work permit seeker

Before I set up a GmbH registration, would I need to have a B-permit or any living permits? Or when I have a GmbH registered company, would I be able to get any living permits?

No, but you would need top have a Swiss resident director (does not need to be a Swiss citizen but must be resident in Switzerland) with full signing rights for the company.

Your company would have to sponsor your application for a work permit. The chances of success are round about zero as, believe it or not, the authorities don't like this sort of thing. Think about it, if you can't get a job in Switzerland through the normal channels then what would you be doing for your company that would qualify you for a work permit? Remember that your company would need top advertise the position for 3 months and prove that there are no Swiss nor EU citizens capable of doing the job.

Save yourself time and stress and forget it.

Re: Non-EU17 Member Swiss work permit seeker

Hi Swissbob,

How about registering a AG company? What are the chances to get an AG company registered if you have at least 100,000-200,000 Swiss Francs capital? Do you recommend to register with a consultant or on your own? I am thinking consultant? Do you have a consultant that you would recommend if you think the chances to register an AG company are good.

Thank you

You cannot register an AG alone - minimum 2 directors one of whom must be a swiss resident and who must have sole signing authority for the company.

Doing this will still not get you a residence permit.

Dear Sun,
Starting a company will not get you a permit. I'm sorry that joey brought it up as if it were a real option for you. It is not.
