Renting a studio in Switzerland for getting a B permit but living in France?

I would like to apply for a B permit in Switzerland but living in France. If I rent a studio in Switzerland but I only live in France, is that illegal? Will there be somebody check if we are really live in Switzerland? Or I only occasionally live in Switzerland?

Please help!

Thanks!

How long does it take to obtain a B permit for me?

Profile:
Non-EU; Married to a French who works in Geneva with a G permit; we live in France.

If we move to Switzerland, it will be easy and fast for my husband to get a B permit, but I have been told it takes 4 months to obtain the B permit for me.

My questions:
1. Is it possible for me to get a G permit without a job contract as my husband holds a G permit? So that we don't have to move to Switzerland.
2. If we move to Switzerland, it is us to apply for B permit or my husband's boss apply the B permit for us?
3. Is there anyway to obtain a B permit fast for me as I really wanna work as soon as possible!

Thanks for your time!

Have a nice day!

No. You only get a G permit is you have a job in Switzerland. You are not living there and thus don't need a permit for Switzerland. You need a carte de sejour for France.

You apply for your permits. Your husband will need his employment contract though, rental contract and other papers. You'll have to check what other papers you need.

It can take 1-4 months. It can take you that long to find a job too. So don't freak out.

"IF"... good luck for finding a studio anyway.
Plus the cost of everything is nonsense.
Plus it sounds something fishy.

For your record they now have agreements french admin/Swiss admin and they will check if you work in Switzerland and get french unemployment benefits or whatever similar.

I don't have french unemployment benefits as I never worked in France.

Thank you for your quick response.

Is it possible that only I move to Switzerland to get a B permit but my husband stay in France? As a single room in Switzerland will be cheaper than a double room. After I have a job, my husband will move to Switzerland, and we rent a double room or a studio.

This is not legal as you won't be living in Switzerland, will you? You can be sure the border control people will know who is going back and forth through their borders. Why on earth do you want to do this anyway? Sound a bit silly, really, to be honest.

I have no idea. You haven't provided enough info to answer this question. All I can tell you is that you can't register and get a B permit for Switzerland but live in France. Good luck.

You can get a B permit if you are an EU citizen in a day in a canton like Fribourg, walk in with the right papers and a few photos and its easy, you need a rental contract and a job offer even on a temporary basis....These things can be made possible...IM me we can discuss it.
