C Permit Eligibility

Hi everyone.
I have a question concerning the C permit eligibility:

I am a non-EU national, who has been in Switzerland for more than 10 years now. First, I arrived in Lausanne in october 2000 to study. So I got a student B permit until 2006. In 2006, I moved to Zurich for working in a company. From April 2006 to April 2010, I got a working B permit but bounded to a 4-years working contract. From April 2010 to now, I have started a new job, still in Zurich, in a new company but this time with an unlimited time contract. Hence, from April 2010 to now, I have a regular working ("ordentliche") B permit.

I wondered when do I become eligible for a C permit. Could you give me your opinions about this situation?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: C Permit Eligibility

C permit eligibility for non-EU is 5 years having a permit B as a working professional, i.e. the years as student will not be counted.

search for the magic word "VINTA" in the forums.

Better get informed by the kreisbüro or Migrationamt Zurich about eligibility as I had even heard some cases where they have rejected some people's application for some of the following reasons

1) The spouse of the applicant did not complete 5 years

2) The applicant did not complete 5 years on an "independent" B permit.

Best is to give a visit to your local Gemeinde and ask them about the eligibility criteria based on your own case.

Re: C Permit Eligibility

I have read your comment regarding the C permit eligibility

I am about to apply for the C permit. Kanton has sent me the form for the application.

I have completed 5 years in Switzerland and my husband 3 years in Switzerland. We ahve a daughter and she is 16 months old.

The kanton sent me the form and a letter and in the letter it is mentioned that only me and my daughter can apply for the C permit and my husband not.

But I have seen that you wrote that the kanton rejected some cases saying the spouse didnt complete 5 yrs...
When did they came to know the application is rejected. ?
Did your freinds get the application form to fill and all ?

I am in Kt. Aargau.

Thanks for your answer.

I am a non EU ( Indian ) born in Switzerland
