I am the mother of twin girls who will be 2years old in October. I work in a Swiss NGO and my husband works in the UN (G category).
I am thinking of trying to bring a nanny down from our home country (Sri Lanka).
I know it is usually very difficult to get a nanny down from one's own country, but my husband says there is a chance because we have twins.

I wonder if anyone has any idea about this. The person I have in mind is widowed with grown children. She does not have any criminal record or misdemeanors.
How difficult would it be, and are there any loopholes which could be used in our favour?

You'd need to prove you can't find a nanny in Switzerland - tricky as there are plenty looking for that role even on the EF .

It is practically impossible to bring somebody for household job not from EU. My boss from Russia tried to do it not but his nanny received visa only for two months. Now he has nanny from Bulgaria. That is the problem - a lot of people form new EU countries are looking for this jobs now.

Does your husband have carte de legimation? If yes, then depending on the type of the card (I believe starting with B,C,D) - you can bring a domestic servant. The only catch is that it can't be member of your family / relative. Otherwise, it's very straightforward process. No problem even for Russian / Bulgarian nationals.
