Hello all,

I'm from the US - but have lived in Switzerland in the past (over 10 years ago!).

My wife and I would like to move back and we're wondering what is the best way to do this in terms of permits.

I'm a software developer and have been able to work at home for many years - and we would like to keep this up. So, I don't think I would be looking for a job in Switzerland, but just looking for a permit to live in Switzerland.

I would keep my same contracts and clients here and do the work there.

I was talking to a friend of mine in Zurich who said that there is a permit for this but he couldn't remember which one it was.

Is such a permit possible? Would I have to set up a company to do this?

Any help would be appreciated.

I had thought this would have been answered, but when I searched I only found threads relating to getting a permit with a job - which is not what I"m looking for.

I'm just looking for a permit that would allow me to live there, while working here.

I'll search some more.

Let's just put this thread to rest. If you are non-EU person, then No, there is no permit for what you want to do.
