Non-EU Student to Working B permit before graduating

Hi Everyone! I've read all threads but I could not find the answer that I needed. I know you all are busy so I'll make it short.
I'm a highly specialized Non-EU B permit holder (student with activity/internship).
I'm 1 semester away from getting my Master degree. I received a job offer and they want to start the permit procedure ASAP so I can start working at a 100% as soon as I'm finished with the University.
The problem is: I was told that if my future employer presents the request now, I will lose my student permit and have to leave the country 'til the canton/confederation approve it (or not!).
This would imply me not finishing the Masters and this is not an option for me!
Is it correct that I could lose my student permit if they apply before i finish the Uni? or
Do I have it guaranteed 'til I finish my studies, even if they apply for a working b permit?
How do the 6 months post-graduation for job seeking apply here? would I have to leave the country as well?
Any advise?

Thanks Alot!! Cheers!

R.R.

Hi, no you will not lose your student permit as long as you are officially registered at the university. Working permit follows a different procedure, and whether it will be approved or not will not have an impact on your student permit.

Who told you that? It's nonsense. Your employer will apply based on your contract which will presumably have a start date later than your graduation.

Thx guys! that was the answer given by HR + the lawyer they consulted... To me it sounded inaccurate, but I've been digging through the legislation and I could not find any references to a case like this. Particularly where the modified conditions for students (6 months) it's applicable. Any suggested lecture?

Go down to the office and ask them. They will be the ones handling your paperwork anyway. Tell them what you told us. They will advise you correctly.
