Anybody out there know how long I can leave the country WITHOUT losing my Permis B????

(I've currently left the job within which I received my Permis B and now fancy a wee trip but not sure how long I can go?!)

I understand that your B permit is valid until its stated expiry date -- regardless of whether you're in Switzerland or not. I may be wrong, though ...

This thread has some useful information, but it's a few years old now: B Permit Holders Leaving Switzerland - Can We Keep Our B Permits. The answer to your question depends on your nationality, how long you want to travel outside Switzerland, and whether you'll maintain a home here while you're travelling ... among other things.

If you leave the country i.e. move out of your accomodation, cancel your health insurance, and deregister from your community then your B permit is cancelled.

Going on holiday doesn't equate to leaving the country .

Read the back of the Permit B, there it states your obligations. If still in doubt go and talk to the office which issued the Permit B.
