I've got a NON EU B Permit and I've been living here since 5 years. Since June 2010 I have an "unlimited" work permit.. basicaly I received a work permit that said "all previous limitations are removed" or something like that.

The question is.. is it possible for me to work with a freelance contract? I am in the consultancy business and have an opportunity to sign a contract as freelancer. But I am not sure how that'd be possible with Arbeitsbewilligung.. ?

Maybe only C permit holders can do such business?

I'd appreciate if anyone has any idea about it and would like to share..

You either set up a GmbH, or work through a payroll company. The alternative of being a sole trader is dependent on being able to demonstrate more than one client at a time. A GmbH is some cantons also has restrictions if you're a one-man consultancy with one client at a time.

I wont set up a GMBH.. but if i work through a payroll company that it is possible i suppose?

There are no such restrictions.

If you are essentially a one man body shop - i.e. placing a staff member at a client site - there are further hoops you have to jump through - it's not just a question of setting up your GmbH and starting work.
