Ok, so permits totally confuse me....so I shall ask people who possibly have a better idea! (I already typed out this question, and then accidentally hit the back button Grrrr.... so have to do it all again!)

Right, so at the moment I am on an L permit. I'm an EU citizen, and this is my second L permit, as I only had a one year contract, then it was extended for another year with no problems. I understand that an L permit cannot be extended, or a new one applied for after you have had one for 2 years is that correct?

I also have been told by friends that to apply for a B permit, you either have to be earning over a certain amount, or have someone commit to financially supporting you? Again, is that correct or have I got that wrong?

Also approximately how long does it take for a B permit to be approved/denied? I know this is going to vary canton to canton, but I'm talking roughly?
