Before you ask: I have searched
So my situation is like this. Arrived roughly 1year ago, got an L for both me and my wife DIRECTLY at the Gemeindehaus (we just supplied some photos, filled a form, payed a tax and picked them up).
Now, my company applied for a change of my permit from L->B, which I got. I went today and picked it up at the Gemeindehaus the same way, but they told me that in order for my wife to get also a B, I have to speak with the migrationsamt. I was pretty confused, as I knew she gets the same permit automatically. They even went as far as to tell me she needs a job to get an L...at which point I thought to myself they really have no clue and left

. I then tried to call the migrationsamt, was on hold for about 25 minutes and hung up (it was funny tho': the first time the robot told me i have to wait about 2 minutes, then after a while 4, then 6 and then at the 25 minute mark, told me it would take another 12

)
So, any advice how to proceed? Do I need to write to the migrationsamt and specifically ask for the conversion also for her? Or do they somehow know automatically that they should convert it for her and I should just wait and get it eventually?
A further complication is the fact that her L permit is issued about 2 months later than mine (due to the fact that I didn't arrive in CH shortly after my permit was originally issued). So, would this mean that her L permit has to expire for her to get a B.
Thanks in advance.
ps: in case you're wondering, I'm actually the husband, posted by mistake using my wife's account; the confusion never ends lol
pps: my company had to pay 500chf for the conversion. Any idea if my wife will have to pay this also by herself? (or, well, me

)
