L-Permit to C-Permit

Hello,

i've been in Swizerland for 6 years now on L-Permits which i have had renewed more than 10 times. As none of my contracts ran longer than 12 month I never got a B-Permit.

I'm a EU/German citizen.

As I understood it after 5 years of being here I could get a C-Pemit.

This however was rejected by the Migrationsamt in Zürich because an L-Permit just won't do. I've never found any source saying that a previous B-Permit is a requirement. Nor did the letter from the Migrationsamt state any law or anything that I could read up on.

Anybody else in a similar situation?

I work in banking IT and don't really want to become a permi.

Thanks
Patrick

Re: L-Permit to C-Permit

This isn't covered by the bilateral agreements but by other laws. For a german citizen 5 years regular and uninterrupted residence in Switzerland = settlement permit = C permit.

If that applies to you then challenge the decision.

Re: L-Permit to C-Permit

If I am not mistaken, L Permit time does count towards a C Permit.
