What a ridiculous discussion. It if were illegal to look for work on a tourist visa, you would actually need to have a work permit to come for a job interview (instead of just coming on a tourist visa/or no visa if you have such a passport as EVERYBODY does). And what is coming for a job interview if not "looking for work"?

Next you'll be telling me prospective students need a student visa in order to come to Switzerland, visit a few campuses, talk to the admissions office and pick up the application forms. Which of course they don't need a student visa for.

Then it would also be illegal to browse internet job postings about jobs in CH without a work permit. Which is of course, nonsense. It's a non-discussion, really.

Actually, for a job interview - if you come from a country where a visa is required - you need a business visa. So maybe not so ridiculous.

Great, so how many people have been arrested, deported, or banned from taking a job because he or she interviewed without one of these?

I'd guess all those that turned up at the border and told them the purpose of the visit was a job interview rather than tourism?
