VISA D, to get married in switzerland

Hi everyone.

I've been to Skopje in Swiss Embassy and they give me lots of documents to fill 3 formular. But i've done that, so, i want to know how long it will last.

I will send the documents in 3.8.2011, but i will go in Switzerland on 6.8.2011!?
And will they take my passport, or just when the visa is ready??

I think all visas are actually placed inside the passport so they need to keep it for some period of time, I'm afraid, usually when you submit the application.

So I'd be surprised if the standard process would allow you to to travel on the 6th, but maybe there is an express process of some sort?

Any thoughts of calling the Swiss Embassy in Skopje, and asking them? They might know...

That's what I would expect, too, and it would appear not (quoted from Skopje Swiss Embassy webpages here):

Quote:
Application process

Appointments are scheduled by phone. Prior to your visit, please call 02 / 310 33 10 from a land line, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 15:00 and you will be given all the neccessary information regarding your application and schedule an appointment for interview at the Embassy.
You can find this information in German, French, Macedonian and Albanian as well as the application form on this web site.

Requests of urgent visa issues can only be dealt with upon written inquiry. Exceptions can be granted in case of substantial Swiss interest only.

Some of them tell me, they keep ur passport, some of them not. I don't know what to believe but for me will be good if they don't take it now, if i take the visa it will be more great but if the process of waiting must happen, then will be good for me to leave my passport to me. Because i go in Switzerland on 6th, can't wait!
