erklarung fur libersiedlungsgur - Declaration of personal household goods???

Hello

I am trying to get my furniture shipped over from the UK, but my removal company has advised that I need one of these for customs. I've searched the internet, but all I can find is the mention of it on the same list that the removal company sent me. Does anyone know what this is, where I can get the form, or if its just a different name for the signed inventory that I also need to submit?

Thanks

Ferret

What you need is the form 18.44 - see link to the Swiss Customs website (right hand side)

Usually, a forwarder (especially when dealing with personal effects) should be able to provide you with the correct documentation... keep an eye on your transport!

I'd concur with the view that any removal company worth it's salt should be handling this for it's customers.

I moved over from the UK a couple of years ago with a lorry full of stuff - the company did all the customs issues for me - I agree with the previous post!

Ah ha, thanks all! The removal firm sent me a 18.44 form, but they also sent me a pdf copy of the text on this website http://www.fidshipping.com/Switzerland-id-44.html Once I realised that they had copied and pasted, it set alarm bells ringing a little, but anyway.....

The document mentions the 18.44 and the erklarung blah blah as two seperate points (from what I can see, it mentions the residents' permit twice too)!

Fingers crossed it all comes in one piece - removal firm is Jamie Briggs, but my goods are coming in a combined shipment with Hunts (Jamie Briggs has subcontracted, as they are booked solid for weeks).

Cheers, Louise

Ah, there lies the rub... It's one and the same document.
