Marriage Info for US-EU Couple

Hi All,

Looking to get some questions answered regarding the whole US-EU marriage registration! I have been to the canton registry and have the Swiss checklist, but any information on permit/visas/turnaround, things to do on the legal front would be helpful as well.

Also, if there is advice on how to address the US papering/tax/registration system that would also be welcome!

Many thanks!

A bit (lot) more info is required. Are you married already? What are you trying to accomplish?

From US, you need to request a "certified" (not notorized but certifed) copy of your marriage licence directly from the issuing authority (court, county clerk etc). The copy should not be older than 6 months at the time of submission to Swiss authorities. You also need to submit an application (I have a soft copy and if you PM me, I can email it to you) along with the certified copy. This application needs to be signed by you and your spouse and then notorized.

Cheers
