Swiss French Border Crossing - Driving License

Hey Folks,

I am planning to visit France by road. I do not have driving. I wanna check do police asks for driving license at Swiss-French border crossing or if I can get away with that. All other my documents are complete.

Cheers.

Peter

Not quite sure what you mean 'I do not have driving?'.
But if you mean I do not have valid driving licence, then please DO NOT DRIVE- you won't be insured. Whose car will you be driving? Yes they DO CHECK IF THEY HAVE ANY DOUBT- I've had all my documents checked many times, including my licence. Please.

Sometimes the Swiss only want to see a driving license, the French are usually not to be seen.

Do not drive without a liscense! It is stupid and it endangers other people's lives. If you want to kill yourself, perhaps I can suggest some other methods but nobody wants you killing thier innocent children on the roads.

I wonder if we scared him off. I sincerely hope he's not driving around without a license. And doubly hope that he's not doing that and attempting to go through a border, that's just madness.

Well actually. It might mean that an unlicensed & unfit driver gets taken off the road sooner than they otherwise would, so maybe its a good thing.

If caught you'll go straight to the clink and the car taken away. Madness.

I like 'trolles' - beautiful yellow Spring flowers, Kind Cups in English and 'Boutons d'or' in French

Hi Peter

I really hope you meant you dont have a french driving license.. instead of not having a driving license at all..
How about getting a international driving license for 45CHF and you avoid any constraints? Takes 15mn max to take care and they sent your new license to your address in less than a week.
Hope it helps!
